Privacy Policy

Effective November 1, 2026

The short version: Librium doesn’t upload anything, and we don’t collect personal information. Your documents and everything Librium knows about them stay on your Mac, unless you choose to save backups somewhere else.

What Librium keeps on your Mac

To do its job, Librium builds an index of the folders you choose to watch. That index includes file names and locations, text read from your documents so you can search them, small preview images, and everything you add yourself: tags, collections, User Attributes, favorites, colors and saved searches.

All of it is stored on your Mac and stays there until you delete Librium’s data. Backups you saved to another folder stay until you delete them.

What we collect

Librium itself collects nothing. It does not send your documents, its index, or your tags and collections to us or to anyone else. There are no accounts to create and no sign-in.

Librium does not include advertising, analytics or tracking.

Your files

Librium reads your documents where they are. It never moves, renames or deletes a file on its own, and it changes a file only when you ask it to. Removing a document from Librium’s index never affects the file itself. If you choose Move to Trash, the file goes to the macOS Trash, where you can still recover it.

Backups

Librium backs up your tags, collections and other library information automatically, and you can make a backup yourself at any time. Backups never include your documents.

Backups are saved on your Mac unless you choose another folder. If that folder is synced by a cloud service, the service stores the backup under its own privacy policy.

Purchases

Librium is purchased through the Mac App Store. Apple handles payment, and we never see your payment details. Apple’s own privacy policy applies to your purchase and your Apple Account.

Crash reports

If you have chosen in macOS to share crash data with app developers, Apple may pass anonymous crash reports to us. You can change this at any time in System Settings, under Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements.

Children

Librium does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
